Summary

Metal-detecting between 2008 and 2021 recovered a late prehistoric flint flake and Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes and a scraper; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins; medieval jettons, post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undated copper alloy casting waste; a Late Iron Age/Roman harness stud; a Roman brooch, nail cleaner, harness mount, furniture fitting and lead steelyard weight; a Roman/Early Saxon amphora-shaped military strap end and military belt fitting; Late Saxon to post-medieval lead weights; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval cosmetic set, leash swivel and lead weight; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy rings, copper alloy vessel fragments, a lead weight and lead unidentified object; a post-medieval sword-belt mount, copper alloy and lead weights, lead cloth seal and lead powder charge cap or measure and a post-medieval/modern lead probable water pipe.
