A series of linear ditch features (see above) of a probable medieval to post medieval date, are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S5). The features most likely relate to a series of boundaries, field boundaries and trackways possibly forming part of a field system. A cropmark bank feature in the south of the area (centred at TG 2263 2677) may have related to a former trackway. The cropmarks of a possible post medieval extractive pit (not mapped) are also visible (centred at TG 2287 2702) on the consulted sources. The features have been suggested to be Medieval to post medieval in date and may have related to multiple phases. However, it is also possible that some elements of the site may be earlier (possibly Iron Age to Roman) in date. Some of the field boundaries also appear to cross the cropmarks of a cojoined Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 65648). The cropmarks of post medieval boundaries recorded on the readily available historic maps (for example S6) are also visible on the consulted sources. These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps. An area of dense geological cropmarks can also be seen across the area and its possible that some of the mapped features may be natural in origin.
