Summary

Study of documentary and cartographic evidence relating to barns at Green Farm.
Complex of five barns, the oldest dating from about 1720-1740. It is constructed from coursed flint with two-inch brick and sits on a plinth. The roof is of 20th century pantiles. A further barn was built between 1828 and 1841. It is a single storey, brick and coursed flint cart barn with a hipped, pantiled roof. The remaining three barns were built between 1841 and 1885, the first being a single storey structure of brick and coursed flint, with the legend 'T Purdy 1855' incised into a brick. The second barn is a substantial threshing barn with a slate roof. The final barn is a cart barn with ancillary range, constructed of brick and coursed flint with a pantile hipped roof. The roof of the main range is hipped.
Proposal to convert the barns into residential accommodation.
