Full Description
November 2008. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of more than one phase of possible medieval to post medieval field system were visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred on TG 3104 0985. At least one east-west linear feature (visible intermittently from TG 3090 0973 to TG3069 0972) appears to be a post medieval field boundary.
There is clearly more than one phase of cropmarks visible within this area, and whilst it is possible that they all relate to medieval to post medieval activity, particularly as at least two north-south ditches may join with linear features 100m to the northwest (NHER 45128), it is also possible that the features that they appear to cut may be significantly earlier, as indicated by the presence of a possible Bronze Age round barrow (NHER 12827) to the north of the area.
E. Bales (NMP), 28 November 2008.
