Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2008 and 2009 recovered Roman and medieval coins and a number of other metal objects, including Early Saxon brooches, a Late Saxon furniture or harness mount and a medieval coin weight. Subsequent fieldwalking has recovered a range of prehistoric worked flints, including a Lower Palaeolithic handaxe; an Early Neolithic retouched flake; a Neolithic polished axehead fragment; Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes, retouched flakes, end scrapers, side scrapers, blade-like flakes and debitage; a Neolithic/Early Bronze Age fabricator; a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age thumbnail scraper and an Early Bronze Age combination tool and plano-convex knife.
