Summary

A series of fragmentary and undated linear features are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. For the mostpart, it is likely that these linear features represent fragments of field boundary ditches in similar way to those to the south-east (NHER 52052), and as such may date to the Late Prehistoric to Roman period, or to the medieval to post medieval period.

Map

April 2009. Norfolk NMP.
A series of fragmentary and undated linear features are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred on TG 2788 0587. For the mostpart, it is likely that these linear features represent fragments of field boundary ditches in similar way to those to the south-east (NHER 52052), and as such may date to the Late Prehistoric to Roman period, or to the medieval to post medieval period.

A possible enclosure may also be visible, centred on TG 2785 0566, with a curved south-west corner, measuring at least 123m by 132m. It is difficult to say whether the north west-south east ditches to the north east make up a third side of the enclosure, or whether these are related to a different phase of activity, and a lack of datable finds from the area makes it difficult to offer any more tangible dating evidence for the features.
