Map

May 2009. Norfolk NMP.
A possible undated trackway on a northwest-southeast orientation is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), underlying linear features that appear to correspond to the Tithe Map (NHER 52017).
The features are faint, and only visible on one set of photographs, but they appear to be made up of three parallel ditches, the central (and longest) of which runs from TG 2932 0767 to TG 2952 0757. 7m to the north east, a second stretch of ditch runs from TG 2935 0766 to TG 2938 0764, and 5m to the southwest of the central ditch a third stretch of ditch is visible, possibly cut by at least three pits, which may be archaeological in nature, but could also represent tree throws along a former boundary feature.
It is difficult to be certain about the date of these ditches, but they do appear to be earlier than the surrounding linear features (NHER 52017).
E. Bales (NMP), 28 May 2009.
