Map

July 2009. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The evaluation revealed post-medieval features including parallel linear trenches, a pit and a well. It is possible that the linear features were planting trenches, perhaps associated with one of the many orchards known to have existed in this part of Norwich.
Finds recovered included medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds, post-medieval clay tobacco pipes and ceramic building material and a single sherd of Roman greyware pottery.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
