Map

August 2009. Norfolk NMP
Undated possible linear ditch features were visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 2863 1179. The consist of a fragmentary ditch running east west from TG 2867 1180 to TG 2858 1180, and a right-angled ditch to the south. They may represent possible enclosures, or fragmentary field boundaries. They are only visible on one set of photographs, and have therefore been recorded with a note of caution.
E. Bales (NMP), 21 August 2009.

April-August 2015. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed line of Norwich Northern Distributor Road (Field G1).
This work revealed a ditch that appeared to correspond with the western end of the east-to-west aligned cropmark. No dating evidence was recovered.
See report (S2) and NHER 63454 for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 17 June 2019.

October 2019. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site to east of Norwich Northern Distributer Road.
This survey identifed a short east-to-west aligned linear anomaly likely to represent a feature associated with one of the cropmarks in this group. This is probably the same ditch as the one encounted during the earlier trial trenching to the west (see above).
See report (S3) and NHER 63454 for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 14 March 2021.
