Summary

In 2009 and 2014 single archaeological test pits was excavated at this location with the help of local school children. These produced evidence for at least limited activity during multiple past periods, with small amounts of Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, late medieval/early post-medieval and post-medieval pottery recovered. The bulk of the pottery is though of late post-medieval/modern date and it is likely that the majority of the other objects recovered were of a similarly recent age.
