Former public house, closed in 1921. The building appears as the 'Dog' on Faden's map of 1797, and is also shown opn Bryant's map of 1826. Sold on 8th June 1878, then consisting of a 'roadside house containing; tap, parlor and pantry, club room and wash house, 4 bedrooms. Also a cottage ajoining, stable for two horses, blacksmiths and wheelwritght shops, straw yard, garden and pightle to rear.' The whole site was upwards of 3 acres. The 1881 census gives the occupants as Harry and Elizabeth Wright.
