Summary

Three post-medieval extraction pits and a possible boundary bank were identified during a rapid earthwork identification survey in 2009.

Rapid Earthwork Identification Survey (Compartments 5051, 5071, 5072 and 5073).
Several large pits; probably marl or gravel pits.
Also short length of east-west aligned bank that probably represents a boundary marked on the 1st Edition O.S map.

Bank A:
A bank to the south of the area surveyed was interpreted as marking a boundary visible on the first edition Ordnance Survey map. Three pits were identified as post-medieval marl or gravel extraction pits.
