Map

August 2009. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of site of proposed extension to The Old Rectory. The trench was placed to establish the location of a possible southern exterior wall of an earlier wing of the house, which is visible on 19th-century maps. A test pit to the south revealed part of an earlier post-medieval wall and a second test pit to the north recovered a possible medieval deposit truncated by later post-medieval activity.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
