Full Description
October 2009. Norfolk NMP.
Several fragmentary linear features are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2). These vary in alignment, and may well represent more than one phase of activity. However, at least one of the features, stretching from TG 1662 1571 to TG 1663 1574, is aligned northeast-southwest, parallel to possible Iron Age to Roman land divisions (NHER 52376, 52379, 52382 and 52384), and may therefore date to the Iron Age to Roman period.
The features certainly seem to pre-date the medieval farmstead and enclosures (NHER 30315).
E. Bales (NMP), October 2009.
