Summary

Metal-detecting between 2009 and 2012 recovered Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval pottery as well as Middle Bronze Age, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Roman, Late Saxon and medieval coins; a Middle Bronze Age spearhead; an Iron Age bridle bit; a Roman ingot, plate brooch, finger-rings and globular headed pin; a Late Saxon mount; medieval dress accessories, a harness pendant, pot mends and a thimble or sewing ring; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy ring, part of an iron knife and a ferrule and post-medieval dress accessories, cloth seals, part of a pair of scissors, a lead window came and belt or harness mounts. The quantity of pottery suggests a possible Roman/medieval settlement site.

Middle Bronze Age spearhead (S1), Iron Age bridle bit, three Roman coins, Roman brooch, hairpin, mirror, steelyard weight, medieval buckle, padlock, spindle whorl, medieval/post-medieval ring, vessels, post-medieval buckle frame, harness mount, strap mount and cloth seal. The quantity of Roman and medieval sherds suggests settlement.

31 medieval pottery sherds, lead vessel repairs or pot mends, a fragment of copper alloy bar, a harness pendant, strap mount, strap-end and a button.
Medieval/post-medieval copper alloy ring, a staple or clip and part of an iron knife.
Post-medieval buttons, a washer, buckle, crotal bell and a furniture fitting.
Undatable fragment of Rhineland lava quern and an unidentified object.
