Summary

A possible trackway is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs on land to the northeast of Lodge Farm, Horsford. Whilst it is not depicted on any available historic maps, the trackway appears to correspond with field boundaries to the north and south, and is therefore considered likely to be medieval to post medieval in date.

Map

November 2009. Norfolk NMP.
A possible trackway is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the northeast of Lodge Farm, Horsford, running for 135m north-south from TG 1995 1644 to TG 1996 1631. It consists of two linear ditches, approximately 4.4m apart.
Unlike the majority of features to the south (NHER 53207) this trackway does not appear to correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map of 1841 (S2), or drainage features shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey Map (S3). However, it may be related to these features, and a medieval to post medieval date seems most likely for it.
This possible trackway is only visible on one set of photographs and has therefore been recorded with a note of caution.
E. Bales (NMP), November 2009.
