Summary

Metal-detecting between 2009 and 2013 recovered an Early Neolithic flint leaf arrowhead; a Neolithic flint scraper or knife; Roman and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a range of other metal objects dating from the Bronze Age to post-medieval periods. These metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age palstave; a Late Iron Age linch pin terminal; a Roman ring-key and 'bell-shaped' stud furniture fitting; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval gilt harness mount and copper alloy seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval cauldron, purse bar, shoulder bolster from a whittle-tang knife, spindle whorl or weight and conical lead weight; a post-medieval silver finger ring, furniture fitting, nesting cup weight and book mount and an undatable copper alloy casting cake.
