Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 2009 and 2022 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including an Early Neolithic adze roughout and a Neolithic/Bronze Age scraper and retouched flake; undated copper alloy casting waste; Late Iron Age (Roman issue) Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins (including two Roman radiate imitations struck from the same pair of dies); a post-medieval token and a range of other, Late Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Late Iron Age/Early Roman terret fragments; Roman brooches, a probable harness pendant and lead steelyard weights; Early Saxon brooches; a Middle/Late Saxon brooch; a medieval strap end; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel leg and a post-medieval belt slide, horse-harness mount and coin weight.
