Map

April 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a small group of undated ditches, probably represent the remains of several phases of field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Swardeston village (S1-S4). The site is centred on TG 2052 0243. The site consists of fragmentary ditches that may represent the remains of two or more phases of boundary ditches. A Roman coin was recovered during renovations at Gowthorpe Manor approximately 225m to the west (NHER 9716), so it therefore feasible that at least some of the ditches are Roman in date.
S. Horlock (NMP), 30 April 2009.
