A former farm complex outside the village of Thurgarton built as a lobby entrance house in the mid-17th century with remodelling in the mid-18th century and later 19th century additions. The house is clad in brick mainly laid in Flemish bond with some English bond on the eastern side. Some of the bricks bear the initials and the date 1745 and others have diagonal 'kiss' marks (darker spot on the brick caused by touching in the kiln).
