Map

January 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A probable post medieval extraction pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1)-(S4) on land to the west of London Road, Wymondham, centred at TG 0960 0030.
The pit itself measures between 23m and 33m in diameter and has a 15m wide bank around its west side. It was considered originally to be a possible bomb crater, but since it appears as a ploughed out cropmark in 1946 (S1), it seems more likely that it represents a post medieval extraction pit.
E. Bales (NMP), January 2010.
