Map

January 2010. Norfolk NMP.
An undated curvilinear ditch and bank are visible as soilmarks (S2) and cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1) and (S3), on land to the north east of Clapgate Farm, Wymondham.
The features run roughly north south from TG 0917 0039 to TG 0922 0020. The ditch measures up to 3.9m in width and the bank is approximately 2.9m wide.
The date of this feature is unknown, and whilst it may relate to the possible medieval to post medieval enclosure 340m to the west (NHER 53339), it is also possible that this is an earlier feature, and it is worth noting that several prehistoric worked flints were recovered approximately 40m to the north east (NHER 28966).
E. Bales (NMP), January 2010.
