Full Description
January 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A series of medieval to post medieval earthwork ditches are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S9) on land to the south of Victoria Lane, Deopham.
The site is centred on TG 0519 0068. The central east-west ditch, running from TG 0511 0069 to TG 0529 0069, and its western arm, which extends as far north as TG 0511 0075, are both depicted on the Deopham Tithe map of 1843(S10), and therefore the site has been dated to the medieval to post medieval period. The earthworks clearly represent field divisions and boundaries, the most complete of which is centred on TG 0525 0072, and measures 34m x 53m internally, 40m by 59m externally.
