Summary

Metal-detecting between 2006 and 2016 recovered a prehistoric worked flint, including a Neolithic/Bronze Age flake and scraper; Iron Age, Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and undatable, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undatable casting waste and slag; Roman brooches, a cosmetic pestle, rotary key handle and a copper alloy furniture fitting shaped like a pawn from a chess-set; a medieval buckle; pot mend and harness pendant; a medieval weight and rotary key fragment; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and post-medieval weights, a harness mount and buckle.
