Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 2002 and 2018 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including a scraper and flakes; undatable burnt flints; post-medieval pottery, ceramic building material and a glass jar; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, post-medieval tokens and a number of other, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal artefacts. These metal finds include a Roman hair pin; a Late Saxon strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a medieval/post-medieval silver probable dress fastener); a medieval bell, scabbard chape, key and lead weight; medieval/post-medieval lead weights and lead spindle whorls; post-medieval spurs, sword belt fittings, an 18th-century statuette of the Roman goddess Minerva and lead cloth seal.

November 2002 - January 2003. Metal detecting and fieldwalking survey. Bacton to King's Lynn pipeline plot 117.
The metal detecting survey recovered a number of metal objects including an 18th century statuette of the Roman goddess Minerva. The fieldwalking survey also recovered a flint scraper, seven flint flakes, three burnt flints, four sherds of post-medieval pottery, a piece of post-medieval glass jar and 21 fragments of post-medieval ceramic building material. Three former field boundaries shown on the 1885 ordnance survey map were not corroborated by the field survey.
