Map

February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of a possible curvilinear enclosure are visible on aerial photographs (S1) on land 63m to the north of the River Thet on Shropham Fen. The enclosure is centred on TM 0024 9358 and measures 34m by at least17m.
It is possible that this feature may relate to an undated enclosure, as it appears to exhibit a possible entrance, measuring 1.7m in width, at TM 0024 9359, but it is also possible that this feature represents post medieval drainage ditches, are there are clearly open drainage ditches visible cutting across this area (S1).
The area has since been quarried for gravel (S3)-(S4), and the earthworks are no longer visible (S2).
E. Bales (NMP), 12 February 2010.
