Full Description
November 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a type 22 World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs located on an area of higher ground to the south of Stoke Road, Poringland (S1). The pillbox is centred on TG 2634 0256. This pillbox, and another to the immediate northwest (NHER 31129), along with searchlight batteries to the south (NHER 34192 & 52467) provided protection for the Stoke Holy Cross radar station to the northwest (NHER 14227). This pillbox had been removed by 1955.
