Summary

The cropmarks of former strip fields and furlongs of medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Alpington Hall. The site is centred on TG 2847 0110. These strips and their early nineteenth century allotment details are clearly depicted on the 1805 East Poringland Tithe map and the cropmarks were therefore not mapped, rather their presence and the map reference is noted for future use in research into the landscape history of this parish.
