Summary

During a metal detecting survey between May and June 2001 two fragments of post-medieval iron cauldron, three copper alloy buckles, a copper lock guard, an ornate fob decorated with a cross motif, possible iron buckle and lead seal were recovered.

May - June 2001. Metal detecting survey A11 improvement scheme.
Two fragments of post-medieval cauldron were recovered from this area with one measuring 15 x 18mm with a ribbed decoration suggesting a foot fragment and the other 47 x 39mm in diameter. Other finds included two copper alloy buckles, a copper lock guard, possible iron buckle, an ornate fob decorated with a cross motif, and copper disc of unknown date. A lead seal with a coat of arms stamped on one side with the upper right quandrant displaying three extended lions measuring 24mm long and 15mm wide with a loop was also recovered.
