Full Description
April 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of probable World War Two weapon pits and/or practice trenches is visible on aerial photographs within Springwell Covert (S1). The site is centred on TG 1124 1928 and consists of small elongated pits or trenches, which probably relate to military training rather than defence. However it must be noted that these features cannot be distinguished on aerial photographs of this area taken in April 1944 (S2), although this may be due to partial tree cover.
S. Horlock (NMP), 26 April 2010.
