Summary

Metal-detecting between 2009 and 2015 recovered Roman and Early/Middle Saxon pottery sherds; Roman and post-medieval coins and undated, Roman, Early Saxon and medieval to medieval/post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated copper alloy ring; a Roman brooch; Early Saxon brooches; a medieval belt mount and a medieval/post medieval vessel fragment, ring, buckle and padlock case fragment. The quantity of Early Saxon material recovered suggests that this is the site of an Early Saxon inhumation cemetery.
