Map

May 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a rectangular enclosure and a ditch of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs to the east of the Breck Barn, Swannington (S1). The site is centred on TG 1408 1786. The enclosure, which measures 23m by 18m, abuts the post medieval track to the east or may be cut by it. A series of enclosures and land boundaries in the area of Breck Barn to the west depicted on the 1837 Attlebridge Tithe map (S2) follow a similar alignment and this enclosure may be of a similar date, although this is uncertain. The ditch to the west of the track is of unknown date. A series of other linear ditch-like features in this area were omitted from the mapping due to the probability that they were post medieval to recent date field boundaries and/or agricultural features.
S. Horlock (NMP), 05 May 2010.
