Map

April 2010. Norfolk NMP.
An undated linear bank feature is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1-S2) to the south of Norwich airfield, running from TG 2259 1233 to TG 2263 1173. It is only visible on two early sets of photographs, and may not be archaeological in nature, but it is on a similar alignment to the bank feature (NHER 52126) identified 2.16km to the northwest, which has been interpreted as a possible Roman or medieval road, and therefore the same interpretation may apply here. It is possible that this feature may relate to a road running north from the city of Norwich towards St Faithswood Farm, as shown on Faden’s Map of Norfolk (S3)
E. Bales (NMP), April 2010.
