Civil Parish HOLT, NORTH NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

December 2008. Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey.
Site 12:
In an area of c. 0.7 hectares, possibly extending further, a thin scatter of burnt flints were recorded. The burnt flint pieces are quite large c. 5cm in diameter and there are few small pieces. They appear not to have the slightly darkened colour that is often seen on mounds or other scatters. Considerable leaf mould exists in this area, and it is possible that the distribution has been possibly disturbed by animals. The site is located close to other burnt mounds and occupation sites such as NHER 6508 and 35107.
See report (S1) for further details.
