Map

June 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A possible oval or round barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1-S2), on land to the northwest of Horsford Castle, centred on TG 2023 1578.
It measures approximately 31m by 22m, and appears to be surrounded by a possible ditch.
A smaller possible mound is visible to the south, centred on TG 2022 1576.
A Bronze Age axehead was recovered directly to the north (NHER 8000), and this may indicate a Bronze Age date for the features.
However, there are many modern drainage features in the area, and it is possible that this feature may have been created by the spoil from drainage ditches.
E. Bales (NMP), June 2010.

January 2012. Field Visit.
The field was not accessible and the possible site was viewed from the adjacent field. No earthworks were seen. This site was arable until recent conversion,
K. Powell (HES). 26 January 2012.
