Map

June 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A probable World War Two bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 2113 0931. The intended target for the bomb is uncertain; there are possible signs of military activity here on the 1942 aerial photographs (S1), but these more probably relate to an industrial or horticultural site here (see the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25 inch map (S3) and the remnants of structures visible on the 1945 aerial photographs (S2)), although this in itself could have been a target. The crater has been mapped schematically to provide a representation of its approximate size but not the finer detail of its exact outline.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 9 June 2010.
