Summary

Two World War Two air raid shelters are visible as structures protected by embankments on aerial photographs. They lay on what appears to have been waste ground (perhaps formerly part of a larger garden) and their size and location adjacent to a road suggests that they were provided for the protection of the public (local residents and passers by, for example). Several such shelters are evident on aerial photographs from across the city.
