Full Description
July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a possible World War Two spigot mortar emplacement protecting Stoke Road bridge over the River Wensum at Trowse Newton is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The structure, which was centred on TG 2364 0600, consisted of a central spigot mortar defence set within an elongated pit and surrounded by an oblong embanked area.
