Full Description
July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of World War Two military structure of unknown function is visible on aerial photographs of the southern part of Mousehold Heath, Norwich (S1-S4). The site is centred on TG 2470 0995 and is located within a military training area associated with a camp to the southwest (NHER 54282). The site consists of a central square structure within a square compound, 46m across. Two additional structures are located outside of the compound to the north (S2-S3). The function of this site is unknown, while the square compound is reminiscent of World War Two radio and/or wireless transmitter sites recorded elsewhere, for example NHER 42518, no clear sign of any masts etc can be detected on the aerial photographs of this site.
