Map

June 2010. Norfolk NMP.
World War Two slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S5), centred at TG 2443 0610. Given their random layout and seemingly non-strategic location, they were probably dug for practice, perhaps by personnel manning the searchlight battery 160m to their southeast (NHER 54252). The approximate area of the trenches and associated disturbance has been mapped by extent; there may have been further trenches additional to those depicted individually by the NMP mapping.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 25 June 2010.
