A World War Two barrage balloon site is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) within Earlham Park, just to the south of a spigot mortar emplacement (NHER 32484).
The tether for the balloon is centred on TG 1907 0816, and two possible related structures are visible to the south and west. The circular balloon tether is visible as distinctive cropmarks as late as 1976 (S2).
