Map

July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of an undated possible enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the south of St Andrew’s Church, Colney. It is centred on TG 1811 0791 and measures 40m by at least 32m.
It is fragmentary in appearance, and may not be archaeological in nature, although it does differ in appearance from the fungus rings visible on the same photographs in adjacent fields, but was recorded largely due to its location, opposite the church, as it is slightly reminiscent of the enclosure recorded at Gressenhall (NHER 25989), which was dated to the Late Saxon-Medieval period.
E. Bales (NMP), 20 July 2010.
