Summary

Crash site of a Mosquito NS998, possibly of 85 squadron based at Swannington, which crashed on 20 March 1945. The remains were found in shallow water north of King’s Lynn.

Crash site of a Mosquito NS998, possibly of 85 squadron based at Swannington. It is thought that the aircraft was on a routine training mission. The remains were found in shallow water north of King’s Lynn and the plane broke up on impact with the water. A propeller, an engine and one of the aircraft’s cannons have been sighted. Possible live ammunition is still buried along with the two crew members.
