NHER 54867 (Find Spot record) - Potentially prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval to modern finds

July 2010. Test Pit.
Excavation of single test pit by local school children as part of the Higher Education Field Academy (HEFA) programme run by Access Cambridge Archaeology.
This test pit (ACL/10/08) was located at [1] and excavated to natural geological deposits, which were encountered at a depth of 0.70m. Finds recovered included:
1 medieval pottery sherd.
1 post-medieval pottery sherd and 3 clay tobacco pipe fragments.
37 late post-medieval/modern pottery sherds.
This test pit also produced a range of other finds that were not subject to specialist examination, the majority of which are either of probable late post-medieval to modern date or inherently undatable. These additional objects include 2 possible prehistoric worked flints, 2 flat tile fragments, 7 ceramic building material fragments, 2 slate fragments, pieces of glass, a piece of wire, 3 iron nails and an iron hook.
