Summary

The cropmarks of fragmentary undated ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Hall Lane, Drayton. The aerial photographs revealed a high density of geological cropmarks in this area and it was consequently hard to confidently identify archaeological features. A number of parallel linear marks, similar to those included within this site, were omitted from the mapping due to the likelihood that they were non-archaeological. It is also feasible that some of the features mapped are also of geological origin. Finds of a medieval date have been found within the vicinity of these cropmarks (NHER 25537 & 28586), although it is not clear whether any of the cropmarks relate to this period.
