Map

March 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of fragmentary undated ditches, which are likely to represent former field boundaries and trackways of unknown date, but possibly Iron Age to Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs to the west of the Roman town at Caistor (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 2192 0319. Finds of Roman date have been found in the proximity of these cropmarks (NHER 30476), although this may could merely reflect the proximity to the Roman town and not necessarily date the cropmarks, which could be pre-Roman in date.
S. Horlock (NMP), 11 March 2009.

June-July 2008. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping in advance of mineral extraction.
The stripped area coincided with a north-north-west to south-south-east aligned cropmark at TG 2190 0328 and the pair of north-west to south-east aligned cropmarks at TG 2206 0318. No corresponding remains were identified.
See report (S4) and NHER 37649 for further details.
