Map

October 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Two post-medieval pit features are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) within forestry plantation land to the south of the possible prehistoric trackway, East Harling Drove (NHER 5435), Croxton.
The northern-most of the two pits is circular, measuring approximately 34m in diameter. It is centred on TL 8713 8917. The second appears to be more oval in shape, measuring 48m by 34m and is centred on TL 8713 8909. These pits are also depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map (S3).
A mound is visible approximately 230m to the south east (NHER 5707), and has been suggested to be Bronze Age or Early Saxon in date.
E. Bales (NMP), 18 October 2010.
