Summary

The site of a possible earthworks of low banks and a pit of uncertain date and significance are visible on aerial photographs to the immediate west of Venta Roman town. It is possible given the location of these features alongside the river that these merely relate to medieval to post medieval features associated with drainage and embankment activities. Although the presence of Roman date finds at this location (NHER 9835) could indicate that some or all of these features could feasibly relate to components of the Roman town.
