Map

November 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a linear ditch feature and a possible ring ditch are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) on land to the south of Bridgham Belt, Bridgham, and to the east of the Roman road, Peddars Way (NHER 1289).
The linear ditch runs from TL 9387 8505 to TL 9411 8522, roughly perpendicular to the line of the Roman road, and it may be possible that it is Roman in date.
There are two possible curvilinear features also visible, the most convincing of which is a possible ring ditch centred on TL 9396 8521. It measures 17m in external diameter, but is not wholly visible, and it is quite possible that both of these curvilinear features are in fact geological features, as they are difficult to distinguish from the intense background geological patterning visible across the entire field (S2).
E. Bales (NMP), 17 November 2010.
