Summary

Metal-detecting between 2010 and 2018 recovered prehistoric worked flints including a Mesolithic/Neolithic core, Neolithic part-polished axehead fragment and Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age knife; Roman, Early/Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a range of other, Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, a copper alloy knife (or other implement) handle and copper alloy terret; Early Saxon brooches and an ear scoop; a Middle/Late Saxon strap end and trefoil mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval harness fittings, a ring, mount, thimble, dagger-scabbard chape, padlock mechanism and folding balance; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy cooking vessel fragments, rings, a furniture escutcheon, purse frame, copper alloy sieve fragment and lead weight; post-medieval harness mounts, bells, a fragment of spur, hooked book clasp, knife end cap, Jew's harp, copper alloy weight and lead cloth seals and undated casting waste and an unidentified lead object.
